If you or someone you know is struggling to pay for expenses related to preschool, JFLA’s 0% interest, no-fee loans can help.

Single-parent families and families with two working parents who have a child between ages 3-5 years old are eligible to borrow up to $15,000 with two guarantors.

Borrowers must be employed and cannot have a current loan with JFLA. Residents of Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties are eligible.

To offset the high cost of tuition and tuition-related expenses for private Jewish high school education, we offer loans up to $10,000 at four participating, local, private Jewish high schools:

JFLA offers interest-free emergency loans to Los Angeles County and Ventura County residents in dire need of rental loans and housing assistance.

If you can’t pay rent and you’re in need of non-profit rent assistance, start your application today and see if you qualify for an emergency rent loan. Even with bad credit, you may be eligible for rental help or housing assistance.

We take pride in providing assistance to the veteran community in Los Angeles. We provide not only rental assistance to veterans, but loans that can be put towards cars and transportation, utilities, vocational training, food, clothing, and dental or medical emergencies.

Other critical housing-related needs are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

At Jewish Free Loan, we rely on guarantors instead of collateral to secure your loan. A guarantor is someone who can guarantee to pay back the loan if you do not. A guarantor is at least 25 years old and has strong credit. A friend, family member, or employer are examples of a guarantor.

Rental Assistance

Summer camps offer amazing experiences that positively affect children’s lives. Loans for Jewish day camp or Jewish sleep-away camp are available for up to $5,000 and do not require any guarantors. Please note that these loans must be repaid within one year.

In the past, we have offered Jewish Summer Camp loans for Camp Ramah, Hess Kramer and Camp Alonim.

Applicants must be full-time, employed teachers, having taught for at least one year.

JFLA supports K - 12 grade teachers in our community and is thrilled to offer zero-interest, zero-fee loans from the Horvitz Teachers' Loan Fund for a wide range of uses, including costs associated with credit card reconciliation, continuing education and credentialing, professional development like conferences,  classrooms supplies and learning materials, and even with most personal and emergency expenses like car repairs, rent, or moving expenses.

This loan program, available exclusively to teachers, is the only one that doesn't require guarantors thanks to the generosity of donors.

Final loan amounts are at the discretion of the JFLA loan committee.
