JFLA supports K - 12 grade teachers in our community and is thrilled to offer zero-interest, zero-fee loans from the Horvitz Teachers' Loan Fund for a wide range of uses, including costs associated with credit card reconciliation, continuing education and credentialing, professional development like conferences, classrooms supplies and learning materials, and even with most personal and emergency expenses like car repairs, rent, or moving expenses.

This loan program, available exclusively to teachers, is the only one that doesn't require guarantors thanks to the generosity of donors.

Final loan amounts are at the discretion of the JFLA loan committee.

JFLA supports K-12 teachers with zero interest loans for classroom supplies, professional development, and personal expenses. No guarantor required for some loans.

This loan program was in such high demand that we have run out of funds.

Hard credit check will only be conducted on applicants requesting $10,000 or more

Do I need to show proof of need specifically related to the natural disaster?

Yes. We reserve the right to request proof of negative impact from the disaster. This could include insurance claims, address of impacted properties, name of schools attended, etc.

Do I need to be Jewish to be eligible for a loan from JFLA.

No! JFLA provides loans to people of all faiths and backgrounds. You do not need to be Jewish to apply.

What if my documentation was destroyed in the natural disaster?

While we sympathize with your loss, we do have minimum documentation that is required. We will try to work with you and provide resources to attain suitable required documents.
