Plaid Bank Verification
Jewish Free Loan Association ("we," "us," or "JFLA") uses Plaid Inc., a third-party service provider, to securely connect to your financial institution and confirm account ownership, balances, and transaction history for loan applicants and guarantors.
The purpose of this verification is to ensure the accuracy of financial information provided during the application process and to help prevent fraud. By confirming that accounts are active and belong to the applicant, JFLA can responsibly assess loan eligibility while safeguarding against misuse of financial data or misrepresentation.
To verify your bank account, you will be asked to securely log in to your financial institution through the Plaid platform. Depending on your bank, you may be asked to provide:
- Your online banking username and password (Plaid does not share your login credentials with JFLA.)
- Multi-factor authentication (such as a one-time code sent by your bank)
- Confirmation of the account(s) you wish to share
Through this process, you authorize Plaid to share the following financial data with JFLA:
- Account ownership details
- Account balances
- Transaction history
If you choose not to complete this verification using Plaid, JFLA may not be able to process your loan application.
As part of providing these services, Plaid accesses and processes your financial information on behalf of JFLA. Plaid does not sell your data or use it for purposes unrelated to the services you've requested. Your data is encrypted and securely transmitted, and Plaid is required to comply with all applicable U.S. laws regarding data security, retention, and usage. Plaid's collection, use, and sharing of your information is governed by their End User Privacy Policy, available at https://plaid.com/legal/#consumers. By connecting your account through Plaid, you agree to Plaid's Privacy Policy.
JFLA's Privacy Policy is available at https://www.jfla.org/privacy-policy, which includes general information about how we use and protect your data.
You may revoke our access to your bank account at any time by logging into your account settings or contacting us at info@jfla.org.
