Now Available to Donor Advised Fund (DAF) Holders at the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles
New Partnership with Jewish Free Loan Association (JFLA)
The Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles is pleased to announce a new opportunity that enables DAF holders to increase their impact by making a recoverable grant to Jewish Free Loan Association (JFLA).
This innovative structure allows fundholders to recommend that a portion of their DAF assets be allocated to JFLA, to be repaid to the DAF in full after a designated term.
Purpose and Impact
This partnership will allow JFLA to expand its capacity to meet the increasing and diverse financial needs of individuals and families across Los Angeles. These funds will be used to:
- Increase the pool of interest-free loan capital
- Pilot and scale targeted lending programs
- Build the capacity of the organization
Through this model, DAF holders have a unique opportunity to leverage their philanthropic capital for direct economic impact, helping borrowers avoid predatory lending and build long-term financial stability.
Similar programs have been implemented successfully with DAF holders in New York and San Francisco with strong results and meaningful community outcomes.
How It Works
- Minimum investment: $25,000
- Term: 3 years, after which funds will be returned to your DAF
- No administrative fees or default risk
- Loan amount not to exceed more than half of DAF account balance
