I am deeply grateful for the opportunity provided by JFLA to work towards true financial stability and freedom. Throughout my 27-year teaching career, I have encountered numerous challenges, both financially and personally. As a single mother to a 16-year-old son, I strive to offer him the opportunities he rightfully deserves. Due to various hardships and the modest compensation typically associated with teaching, I have relied on credit cards to manage some of my expenses. Over the years, it has been exceedingly difficult to pay off these cards because of high interest rates and my other monthly financial expenses. Despite my best efforts to budget and manage my finances diligently, progress has been limited.
The moment I learned about the possibility of applying for an interest-free loan through JFLA, I was astonished. The generosity of an organization that prioritizes the well-being of teachers by offering financial assistance to those in need is truly remarkable. For the first time in many years, I can contribute significantly to paying off my debts without accruing additional interest. In a few years, I anticipate becoming debt-free, which will undoubtedly alleviate a substantial burden.
I am profoundly appreciative of JFLA for offering me the opportunity to reduce my financial stress and focus on what truly matters: my son and my teaching career. Teaching is my passion, and while it involves many sacrifices, the fulfillment I get from educating thousands of students makes it all worthwhile. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the donors for recognizing the challenges faced by educators and for providing us with the means to help ourselves while continuing to make a difference in the lives of young people through education.
